Baby C

This little dude was a super cute/ super good baby. He as only like a week old and he was a champ. I don't have a lot of time to edit stuff so I just threw all of these photos on. I shot all of these photos in the firehouse where Mike works. Michelle kept saying that Mike wasn't down with the whole idea of these photos, but I know he loved it.... right Mike?

Check out that bicep at only a week old. oooohhh ya!

I love this shot. Just to remind the audience we did all of these shots in a garage, no fancy lights (natural) just some props, like a really cute kid.

This one is called the tree frog.

I really wanted the boot shot but C wasn't havin it.

This is Mikes fire helmet....kind of hard to tell

front yard

These little flowers grow in the front of our yard. I think there used to be in a planter box that bordered the front yard at one time because these bulbs pop up every spring, they are super small and it makes me not want to mow my lawn because they all get chopped up as soon as they grow.

I don't know what kind of flower this is but they are super beautiful and everyone in my neighborhood has them all over their yard.......luckies.

lightroom

So my buddy Justin suggested I give Adobe lightroom 2 Beta a try to see if I like it. I currently do all of my editing in Photoshop but he said something about shortening my workflow which I am all about. The last 2 posts were used in lightroom but I just haven't figured it out all the way yet. I remember when I first tried to figure out Photoshop for the first time.....it wasn't that easy for me to just start clicking away and make a photo beautiful. Well I am back to that learning stage again as you can tell with the crappy colors and super unsaturated photos. It takes so long to get them to where you want them that when I discovered that they all sucked (after I posted them) I didn't want to go back and do it all over again so I am leaving them for now.
Overall I think I do like lightroom with the way that it flows and it allows you to work with all of the basics, which is all i need. I don't like manipulating my photos a whole lot so this keeps me grounded a little more, and makes things a little more "pure". That's just me though.
Another thing that is different for me is that I am pretty much shooting strictly in raw format now which is a result in my bad saturation levels. O.k I think I have bored everyone enough with the photo mumbo jumbo talk........after all it is a photo blog.

Emotions

We babysat all of the Emig kids while they were out on a hot date, so I broke out the camera to take some pics. It was so nice outside, the most perfect day of the year so naturally the kids wanted to play on the tramp outside. Everyone had their P.J's on and they were ready for bed but no one wanted to come inside. Cali I am so sorry that I am posting these pics of C.C I just thought they were funny.

Work bunnies

Like 2 weeks ago we were driving around at work and I spotted these 2 little cute bunnies that clearly weren't there because they are wild. We drove up to them and got close enough to them that we could have maybe caught them with our cat like reflexes but we didn't try because they were so dang cute. Instead I just took some pics of them. They have been there for like a week now. They stay in the same place and just eat grass all day long. Cute little buggers!

Bigger is better

I was asked to make the larger version of these photos to bring out more detail. Here you go . They really are kind of creepy when you see all of the parts. Usually you just see the cute little reddish orange shell and black dots , but masked underneath that cute shell is kind of a scary looking bug, but a little cute at the same time....

The tree it was in

No thank you... I am going to have nightmares tonight

thinking about flying away

bugs

oli said, "Dad look at this ladybug, you should take a picture of it." I thought that was a pretty good idea so I did.
There is a sow bug (fly fishing lingo) and the other 2 on the bottom row are of the tree I found the bugs in. It's a little creepy to see them this close it. It takes the cute out of them that's for sure.
